Paradise Park Hotel, Los Cristianos, Tenerife - 4 Star

What makes this hotel a fun place to stay? The answer is the people who work here and dedicate their time and personality 365 days of the year. Yes this is the hub of the hotel with lots of energy, life and fun! The staff are extremely polite, efficient and committed to making sure the guests have a great holiday and this shows that they are doing a great job, as their guests return year after year.

I have enjoyed two visits to the Paradise Park Hotel and I can say that I loved them both but in particular, the festive holiday break last December. I think there is something quite special about hotels at this time of year and Christmas is a big feature in Tenerife! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with the large Christmas tree in the reception, Papa Noel (Santa Clause) statue and a whole host of other decorations dotted around the various function rooms. All tastefully done for guests to feel part of the festive holiday break.

The hotel made such a good impression with me that I decided to book again for this year and so I set off on my travels once again in September and loved it!. It has a bright and cheerful feel with a twist of modern and classic throughout the building. The reception area is modern with efficient staff that will always find a smile for guests. They will resolve any issues quickly and professionally which is what I like about this hotel. Check in is quick and painless, so before you know it, you are settling into your room without a fuss. And I booked direct!

This time I decided to pay a little extra and upgrade to the room with a pool view. I was not disappointed as the modern room was bright, spotlessly clean and a lovely view of the pool. Standing on the balcony at night was relaxing, listening to the music from the entertainment and watching the sun go down behind the mountain. It gives you a sense of tranquillity and calmness, a belonging in life. It is a nice place to share a glass of wine with your loved one and to watch the sun disappear, leaving a bright orange and yellow band of glowing colours along the way. What I love about Tenerife, is you have a mixture of beauty which are so different in contrast to each other. You have the dark, greyness of the mountains which stands out against the beautiful blue coastlines. Total opposites, yet both intriguingly beautiful.

The brightly coloured bedroom which I stayed in was different to what I would normally choose but it was refreshing. Uplifting and fun. The bedrooms were large and the bathroom is a very good size with a large shower area (no bath). Loved the shower as it was powerful and spacious. If you sign up and become a member, then you will receive the special offer of that month. Usually it is a bottle of 'champagne' (not real stuff) and some biscuits but it is a nice little gesture.

The bedrooms are maintained daily to a high standard with fresh towels and bed making. It was always kept clean and to a high standard.

Love is a huge part of this hotel and you will see it featured throughout the building, written on walls or in a lot of social media posts. 'People' are part of their branding and this shows.

Amigos in Paradise... there is so much effort and hard work put into helping guests and you will see this if you link up on social media for Facebook and Twitter. Lots of events, videos and photographs of what has been happening. Discounts available for people who sign up and book direct and also special offers, so keep track of this. I booked direct and got a really good discount due to a special offer (about 30 euros per night) so if you are planning a trip, keep checking the hotel prices via their website as they do change and it's worth keeping an eye on. There is a section in the reception areas of Amigos in Paradise where you will find 2 - 3 members of staff there each day to help you with any events or information you may need. Again, this stands out from other hotels with that little bit extra customer service and thought put into the guest's holiday.

Hotel Shuttle Bus! Yes this a great little perk to the service as I was not aware of this when I visited in December. I find walking easy but for those who don't, the shuttle bus will take you directly from the hotel and into Los Cristianos (which is not far but for some who struggle, it's nice). There is a slight bank to the hotel if you are walking from the beach but nothing too energetic! The bus came in handy for me as I used it once to go into the bus station in Los Cristianos and to catch another bus to Puerto De La Cruz.

The restaurant staff were excellent, both for the speed in which they worked and their professionalism. They worked from start to finish and reminded me of little ants, busy at work, constantly tidying, replacing items and cleaning tables. Not once throughout the ten days of my stay, did I see anyone standing idol or wasting time! Nope they worked effortlessly to keep the place running like clockwork.

The quality of food was really good and in particular, the dessert section. Guests will not be disappointed with what is on offer but one thing I will like to offer as a suggestion, maybe a little more imagination as it did sometimes feel it was lacking in a bit of a boost in the selection. This is no way a critic to the Chef or staff as the standard of food is great.

Restaurant Staff
There is lots to eat and the staff are always accommodating. You will feel comfortable and relaxed in this environment.

The evening staff were really helpful and you can enjoy a good quality bottle of wine at a reasonable price. If you are a bit similar to us (my good friend Nita and me) and you enjoy only a glass or so, the staff will label your bottle and cork it until the next night. This was ideal for us as we did not feel pressured into drinking more than we wanted too and also you are not forced into buying more than needed. Nice personal touch and it allowed us to relax and enjoy the rest of the night with a few cocktails in the bar!

Like all hotels, there is always a few members of staff that stand out from the rest. Whether this is through their personality, hard work and customer service. Nita and me both agreed that one member of staff really went that extra mile to greet us, suggest suitable wines and listen (and assist on translation) every night. She took the time to enjoy our little stories and made us feel part of the Paradise People. True professional and we really did feel she delivered a fantastic customer service to guests. Thank you Alina Irimia for making us feel welcome. You get our winning vote!

For those who chose to stay 'all inclusive', guests can enjoy the buffet and restaurant area at lunchtime on level 1. I did not attend here as I stay half board but it is a lovely dinning area, colourful and a good place to eat. At night, guests can sit here and enjoy some live entertainment which is a little different from the main bar. Really nice place to be, bright, airy and spacious. It also has a small bar so guests have everything there for a great night.

During the day, lunch is served in this bar and guests can expect a colourful array of fruits, cakes and hot food to choose from. It did look very inviting and it was ideal for guests to take a seat indoors away from the heat The area is relaxing and spacious so guests will not feel overcrowded.

Entertainment - 10/10 top marks! Bar Yaiza will keep you entertained at night with great shows. I am not usually a fan of hotel bar entertainment to be honest but what I can say is this hotel certainly pulls out the stops to keep their guests happy. It is lively, a great place to have some time to dance once the shows have finished and the team will keep you fully entertained. There is a huge amount of energy and very friendly people. Well done to Julian Rada Nunez, head of entertainment and manager for providing a good place to stay at night and to the team behind him that work hard to keep the standards high.

One of the nice little places to take a visit during the day is the rooftop. What I love about this area is the stunning views. The calmness of the mountains at the back of the hotel and the glorious sea view directly ahead. Gorgeous and you can see the ferry leaving each day from Los Cristianos to La Gomera. You can book this day trip direct from the hotel. There is a good choice of sun beds to choose from and if you want a little extra luxury, you can pay a fee of 15 euros for the day for a four poster lounger. The rooftop has a jacuzzi and small swimming pool, complete with a bar.

Roof top with stunning views

The main pool area is beautiful, large, clean and popular with the families. I noticed there is often some activities going on such as volley ball and sometimes, you can find foam parties there! You can take the area above the steps and past the children's play area to find another sunbathing spot, a bit more secluded and relaxing. The whole area is well maintained and carefully set out, with plenty of sun beds for guests.
So you have a really good idea of what you can expect from booking your holiday at the Paradise Park Hotel but what about a little hidden gem you might possibly miss? Yes it is so easy to walk past this little treasure and I think the hotel would benefit from adding this service to the electronic board in their reception area. What is this hidden gem? it is the Spa and Massage service which the hotel offer. Amazing!!! It was so good, I am going to do a specific write up alone on the Spa. Unless you actually walk into the Spa reception and take a look, you will not get to see what it offers and meet the team that work here. The leaflets do not give you the impact of what the guest will receive with the treatment but what I can tell you, it was a pure dream. It was the 'icing on the cake' to my holiday and I can say that this is a 5 star treatment service which guests really should take a look at. I was so impressed, my next visit will see me heading straight over to the Spa to book in my full body massage and this will be whether I stay at Paradise Park Hotel or not. Well done to this fabulous team and dedicated manager.

It was really nice to stay at this lovely hotel but I want to share some photographs of the old part of the building. This is quite different to the modern part of the hotel but it brings a kind of antique and traditional feel. Pretty and different. There is only a small section within the reception area which is featured as the old style but it is attractive.

Old style of reception
Lastly, I would like to add that this was a great place for me to meet up with my great friends (Tenerife family) where we had some fantastic laughs and chats. There was no problem with them joining me for drinks, coffee or evening meal and this was really good for me. It made me feel at home, relaxed and an opportunity to use the wifi if needed to help in translation of Spanish.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hotel and my dear friends for their support and love and I have added some personal photographs to share with you all. Love, Laughs and happy memories! Muchas Gracias Mi Paradise Park Amigos y Tenerife Familia x
