Spa Paradise, Hotel Paradise Park, Los Cristianos

Let me take you on an experience that you will not forget and once you try it, you will be so glad you done it!

If you are a little like me and have always thought that massage treatments are not for you or not worth the money, think again! I can definitely say 'how wrong I was'. What I experienced at the Spa Paradise, I should have tried this experience years ago. My life has always consisted of high pressured business work and so taking time out to destress was never on my agenda or 'to do list'. I am so glad that I took the steps into this part of the hotel and made the plunge to go for it. I can honestly say it was a small time in my life where I can say it was all about me.  Yes, after years of working late hours, business deals, high pressure and raising a family single handed, it was my time to relax and see what this treatment would offer.

Being inquisitive, I decided to take a stroll around the hotel to see what the Paradise Park hotel had to offer guests and I had stayed here previously in December last year but missed this hidden little gem. Apart from the brochures in the rooms, you do not really get to know much more and to be honest, the information is really just a price list. From a business point of view, if this was my hotel and offered this service then I would be shouting it out to everyone that booked into the hotel. The hotel is really hot on social media and I will say they have a great marketing team but I have never seen anything advertised about this service. A video would be great, especially to show the large room available to book for special occasions such as small celebration groups, hen or stag events. Perfect way to chill out before the big day of your wedding with some friends or even a special birthday treat! Christmas is fast approaching and what a lovely treat for a friend or loved one or better still, treat yourself!

Staff and Reception Area (Art Work by local Artis Monica Sidy)
To capture the mood and ambience of the Spa, a video would be excellent for the reception area and also to send out via social media. Now that I have experienced this service, I intend to go back and try the full body massage, even if I do not stay at the hotel as this to me, is my time.

So, what can you expect to receive from the Spa Paradise; well for starters, you will be sure it is clean. Yes spotlessly clean and when you first visit the changing rooms to lock away your items and put on the luxurious white robe, you will be hit with the fragrances which float in the air. You can tell that when it comes to making this room smell nice, there is plenty of money spent in this area to keep it smelling sweet. It is as if the team have a cleaning disorder as it is kept that nice!

There is a whole host of options you can choose from nails, eyes, facial and muscular options. There is also further choices of relax massages oriental massages, exfoliations and rituals. For that special treat, massages just for him, just for her and couples. Yes, it was lovely to see such a personal set up where you could go with your loved one for a massage, followed by a private jacuzzi, cava, truffles, thermal circuit in a double suite. Wow! if I had a special man in my life, I would be heading straight for this offer as it looked fabulous.

So, as I was on holiday with my good friend Nita, the romantic choice was out of the question but we were really pleased with what was in store for us both. I took some time out first to use the Spa facilities and check out what was on offer. Firstly I headed to the biothermic showers which was something that I have not seen before. The cubicle was spacious and at first, I wondered why there were so many jet sprays which were equally sectioned up the wall. I soon found out that it starts with the lower part of your body and the water sprays hit your legs for a set time. This then shuts off and then next stage of the process is quickly in action with the middle section of your body and so on. Lastly, you receive a final spray from the ceiling of the cubicle and then you are all ready to go.
Spa Facilities and Nail Bar
My first choice was the sauna as I do enjoy this part and as soon as I walked in, I had the whole room to myself. Immediately I could feel the hot steam going to work on my skin and breathing it in was just the start of the relaxing process. It is recommended to make use of the Spa so that it opens up all of the pores of your skin, ready for your massage treatment. I could have stayed in here longer but I eagerly wanted to move on to the next facility which was the sauna. This was lovely too so I took in the moments of stillness, heat and waited until I could not tolerate anymore and then headed straight to the warm, inviting jacuzzi.

As I stepped into the jacuzzi, I immediately felt at home. This was heaven with the warmth against my skin, the dim lights of the room and the flickering glow from the orange candles which were located at each side. The bubbles of the jacuzzi made me feel a little dizzy but I think this was from the sheer relaxing and excitement of the experience. For sure, I was so relaxed and comfortable sitting in this environment. It was immaculately clean and to me, this was a blessing as I have been to many places and hygiene has not been the best so this puts me off going into a jacuzzi. What I can say without a shadow of a doubt is, this Spa puts hygiene as a priority on their list. You will not question cleanliness when you visit here and the personal attention from the staff is outstanding.

After reluctantly getting out of the jacuzzi, I headed back to the biothermic showers and competed the process. There is a small room available where you can sit and take cold drinks, tea, coffee and fruit. This is all within the price of the Spa and a nice little extra touch. I did not move into this area as I was keen to catch up with my good friend Nita and move onto our treatment. I was a little uncertain as to what to expect but very excited.

We were both taken to the large room which is hired out for small party bookings. This room had low lights, filled with coloured walls of dark red and then the treatment room was purple. The room was split in two with a roller blind closing off the treatment area which consisted of two massage beds. Candles were lit around the area and the atmosphere was simply adorable. Tranquil, tasteful decor and private. I had already checked out the other rooms available, especially the double room with the bubble bath facilities which was still buzzing around in my head as I thought 'this is the ideal valentines room' package. The room which we were using was equally as nice. A great opportunity for a few girls on holiday to spend a few hours chilling out and making the most of a great time away from home, free from drunken nights and hangovers. Yes this is something that is healthy both physically and mentally. Refreshing and personal.

Couples, Double & Single Massage Treatment Rooms
We were given some disposable paper underwear to slip onto our lower part and then asked to lie on the individual beds, but we were respectfully covered up with a large paper blanket to maintain our modesty. Soft music played in the background with the flickering glow of the candles that danced around the walls and ceiling.

Carolina was to work on my treatment while Nita was looked after by another professional and it was at this point, all the cares in the world just left my body. I lay with my eyes closed, warm towels around my head and each time that a part of the treatment was to commence, the soft, relaxing voice of Carolina would guide me to what was to come and why it was being done. Short relaxing sentences, nothing heavy or intruding by what she told me, no it was quick, soft selected words which gave me enough information as to what was happening.

I could hear her put some kind of oil or cream into her hands after rubbing them fiercely together and then she would clap her hands in a soft timing motion above my head. I could feel the heat from her hands move onto my face yet she had not made any contact with me yet. The fragrance started to appear and I got a quick smell of something that I can only describe as peppermint. It reminded me of the smell of a particular kind of chewing gum from when I was younger. It was refreshing and pleasant smell, much to my delight, I was suddenly taking all the fragrance quickly through each nostril and feeling fresher by the minute.

Carolina guided me through some light, easy tactics such as breathing in deeply at certain times and relaxing. Now let me tell you, I cannot remember the last time that my whole body relaxed as this is something I find difficult. My body naturally tenses in places so relaxing was going to be quite a task for me. Well within the first 5 minutes, I surrendered and I was in a state of total relaxation and my body felt so light that I thought I was about to float off. This is no made up story, this is a true reflection of what I felt and something that I believe I could not achieve due to the stresses and strains from my previous workload and life in general.

I then received a whole lot of facial treatment of cleansing, creams and massaging to certain points of my face which made me totally relax and take in all of the glory. I wanted to call over to Nita to check she was feeling the same as me but there was silence from us both and I knew that neither of us wanted the relaxation and treatment to end. It was heaven and all I kept thinking about when the treatment was taking place was 'it has the correct name of Spa Paradise'.

Carolina quietly spoke to me explaining different creams she was using and why my skin needed it. I felt so refreshed and relaxed that nothing else seemed to matter anymore within that room. My eyes were closed throughout the treatment and at times, soft warm cotton pads placed over them to revive this area.

After the intense facial treatment, work started on my feet and the massaging took place. I am not a great fan of people touching my feet or me touch other peoples feet but to be fair, this was absolutely fine. It was clear that the treatment was directed immediately at certain points within the feet and it was a very relaxing and pleasant experience.

Adorable Creams and Skin Care
What was I thinking throughout the treatment time? well, I just kept saying to myself that I did not want it to end so that tells you something. The treatment in total lasts for 50 minutes but I would think we got a little extra time which was to our advantage. I was keen to see Nita's reaction and her thoughts.

We both put on our white robes and headed towards our loungers where there was champagne, fruit and chocolates awaiting us! What more could a person ask for but to chill out and relax even more with a few glasses of champagne. We both lay on our individual loungers. smiling and happy. Poured our drinks and said Chin Chin! Salud. We both chatted (me in my broken Spanish and probably not correct) but it did not matter as one thing I have learned about the locals, they love you for trying to speak their language. I certainly do try.

Nita lay relaxed and we did not need many words to express how happy we both were or what our emotional state was from the treatment we had received. Our faces were stripped of any makeup but for once, I was happy to meet people I had known for a long time, totally free of makeup. Yes, only the creams used on my face was my barrier but it was natural and I felt comfortable. My face felt like glowing, satin and the creams were divine.

Afternoon Delight
What a fabulous afternoon and end to our holiday. The staff were really professional, well mannered and perfectly trained. The manager Marga, runs the Spa with precise detail, cleanliness, personal attention towards their guests and it was clear that she carried out her duties with pride. What a truly professional team, lead by a dedicated team leader. Well done and top marks for providing this wonderful experience for guests in this hidden little gem of a place!!!

So, All you guys out there who have a holiday with their partner in Tenerife and who would like to plan a romantic surprise for their loved one, well look no further as this will sure to put a big warm smile on her (or his) face. Trust me, it is worth every penny and she/he will certainly be impressed that you put some thought into this one! Take the plunge and book up for the Spa and a massage or even better, go all out for the Special Diamond Delux package and maybe you can feed back to me how you got on with the treatment, cava, bubble bath and truffles. Your partner will praise you all the way back home and you certainly will be top of their Christmas list. Good luck and enjoy it as much as I did!

Thank you to the wonderful team for making our day an experience we will never forget and leaving us with wanting to visit again and again. Loved it!

Paradise Park Hotel, Los Cristianos, Tenerife - 4 Star

What makes this hotel a fun place to stay? The answer is the people who work here and dedicate their time and personality 365 days of the year. Yes this is the hub of the hotel with lots of energy, life and fun! The staff are extremely polite, efficient and committed to making sure the guests have a great holiday and this shows that they are doing a great job, as their guests return year after year.

I have enjoyed two visits to the Paradise Park Hotel and I can say that I loved them both but in particular, the festive holiday break last December. I think there is something quite special about hotels at this time of year and Christmas is a big feature in Tenerife! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with the large Christmas tree in the reception, Papa Noel (Santa Clause) statue and a whole host of other decorations dotted around the various function rooms. All tastefully done for guests to feel part of the festive holiday break.

The hotel made such a good impression with me that I decided to book again for this year and so I set off on my travels once again in September and loved it!. It has a bright and cheerful feel with a twist of modern and classic throughout the building. The reception area is modern with efficient staff that will always find a smile for guests. They will resolve any issues quickly and professionally which is what I like about this hotel. Check in is quick and painless, so before you know it, you are settling into your room without a fuss. And I booked direct!

This time I decided to pay a little extra and upgrade to the room with a pool view. I was not disappointed as the modern room was bright, spotlessly clean and a lovely view of the pool. Standing on the balcony at night was relaxing, listening to the music from the entertainment and watching the sun go down behind the mountain. It gives you a sense of tranquillity and calmness, a belonging in life. It is a nice place to share a glass of wine with your loved one and to watch the sun disappear, leaving a bright orange and yellow band of glowing colours along the way. What I love about Tenerife, is you have a mixture of beauty which are so different in contrast to each other. You have the dark, greyness of the mountains which stands out against the beautiful blue coastlines. Total opposites, yet both intriguingly beautiful.

View from apartment room
The brightly coloured bedroom which I stayed in was different to what I would normally choose but it was refreshing. Uplifting and fun. The bedrooms were large and the bathroom is a very good size with a large shower area (no bath). Loved the shower as it was powerful and spacious. If you sign up and become a member, then you will receive the special offer of that month. Usually it is a bottle of 'champagne' (not real stuff) and some biscuits but it is a nice little gesture.

The bedrooms are maintained daily to a high standard with fresh towels and bed making. It was always kept clean and to a high standard.

Love is a huge part of this hotel and you will see it featured throughout the building, written on walls or in a lot of social media posts. 'People' are part of their branding and this shows.

Amigos in Paradise... there is so much effort and hard work put into helping guests and you will see this if you link up on social media for Facebook and Twitter. Lots of events, videos and photographs of what has been happening. Discounts available for people who sign up and book direct and also special offers, so keep track of this. I booked direct and got a really good discount due to a special offer (about 30 euros per night) so if you are planning a trip, keep checking the hotel prices via their website as they do change and it's worth keeping an eye on. There is a section in the reception areas of Amigos in Paradise where you will find 2 - 3 members of staff there each day to help you with any events or information you may need. Again, this stands out from other hotels with that little bit extra customer service and thought put into the guest's holiday.

Amigos in Paradise and Reception Area
Hotel Shuttle Bus! Yes this a great little perk to the service as I was not aware of this when I visited in December. I find walking easy but for those who don't, the shuttle bus will take you directly from the hotel and into Los Cristianos (which is not far but for some who struggle, it's nice). There is a slight bank to the hotel if you are walking from the beach but nothing too energetic! The bus came in handy for me as I used it once to go into the bus station in Los Cristianos and to catch another bus to Puerto De La Cruz.

The restaurant staff were excellent, both for the speed in which they worked and their professionalism. They worked from start to finish and reminded me of little ants, busy at work, constantly tidying, replacing items and cleaning tables. Not once throughout the ten days of my stay, did I see anyone standing idol or wasting time! Nope they worked effortlessly to keep the place running like clockwork.

The quality of food was really good and in particular, the dessert section. Guests will not be disappointed with what is on offer but one thing I will like to offer as a suggestion, maybe a little more imagination as it did sometimes feel it was lacking in a bit of a boost in the selection. This is no way a critic to the Chef or staff as the standard of food is great.

Restaurant Staff
There is lots to eat and the staff are always accommodating. You will feel comfortable and relaxed in this environment.

The evening staff were really helpful and you can enjoy a good quality bottle of wine at a reasonable price. If you are a bit similar to us (my good friend Nita and me) and you enjoy only a glass or so, the staff will label your bottle and cork it until the next night. This was ideal for us as we did not feel pressured into drinking more than we wanted too and also you are not forced into buying more than needed. Nice personal touch and it allowed us to relax and enjoy the rest of the night with a few cocktails in the bar!

Like all hotels, there is always a few members of staff that stand out from the rest. Whether this is through their personality, hard work and customer service. Nita and me both agreed that one member of staff really went that extra mile to greet us, suggest suitable wines and listen (and assist on translation) every night. She took the time to enjoy our little stories and made us feel part of the Paradise People. True professional and we really did feel she delivered a fantastic customer service to guests. Thank you Alina Irimia for making us feel welcome. You get our winning vote!

For those who chose to stay 'all inclusive', guests can enjoy the buffet and restaurant area at lunchtime on level 1. I did not attend here as I stay half board but it is a lovely dinning area, colourful and a good place to eat. At night, guests can sit here and enjoy some live entertainment which is a little different from the main bar. Really nice place to be, bright, airy and spacious. It also has a small bar so guests have everything there for a great night.

During the day, lunch is served in this bar and guests can expect a colourful array of fruits, cakes and hot food to choose from. It did look very inviting and it was ideal for guests to take a seat indoors away from the heat The area is relaxing and spacious so guests will not feel overcrowded.

Restaurant Floor Level 1
Entertainment - 10/10 top marks! Bar Yaiza will keep you entertained at night with great shows. I am not usually a fan of hotel bar entertainment to be honest but what I can say is this hotel certainly pulls out the stops to keep their guests happy. It is lively, a great place to have some time to dance once the shows have finished and the team will keep you fully entertained. There is a huge amount of energy and very friendly people. Well done to Julian Rada Nunez, head of entertainment and manager for providing a good place to stay at night and to the team behind him that work hard to keep the standards high.

One of the nice little places to take a visit during the day is the rooftop. What I love about this area is the stunning views. The calmness of the mountains at the back of the hotel and the glorious sea view directly ahead. Gorgeous and you can see the ferry leaving each day from Los Cristianos to La Gomera. You can book this day trip direct from the hotel. There is a good choice of sun beds to choose from and if you want a little extra luxury, you can pay a fee of 15 euros for the day for a four poster lounger. The rooftop has a jacuzzi and small swimming pool, complete with a bar.

Roof top with stunning views

The main pool area is beautiful, large, clean and popular with the families. I noticed there is often some activities going on such as volley ball and sometimes, you can find foam parties there! You can take the area above the steps and past the children's play area to find another sunbathing spot, a bit more secluded and relaxing. The whole area is well maintained and carefully set out, with plenty of sun beds for guests.
So you have a really good idea of what you can expect from booking your holiday at the Paradise Park Hotel but what about a little hidden gem you might possibly miss? Yes it is so easy to walk past this little treasure and I think the hotel would benefit from adding this service to the electronic board in their reception area. What is this hidden gem? it is the Spa and Massage service which the hotel offer. Amazing!!! It was so good, I am going to do a specific write up alone on the Spa. Unless you actually walk into the Spa reception and take a look, you will not get to see what it offers and meet the team that work here. The leaflets do not give you the impact of what the guest will receive with the treatment but what I can tell you, it was a pure dream. It was the 'icing on the cake' to my holiday and I can say that this is a 5 star treatment service which guests really should take a look at. I was so impressed, my next visit will see me heading straight over to the Spa to book in my full body massage and this will be whether I stay at Paradise Park Hotel or not. Well done to this fabulous team and dedicated manager.

It was really nice to stay at this lovely hotel but I want to share some photographs of the old part of the building. This is quite different to the modern part of the hotel but it brings a kind of antique and traditional feel. Pretty and different. There is only a small section within the reception area which is featured as the old style but it is attractive.

Old style of reception
Lastly, I would like to add that this was a great place for me to meet up with my great friends (Tenerife family) where we had some fantastic laughs and chats. There was no problem with them joining me for drinks, coffee or evening meal and this was really good for me. It made me feel at home, relaxed and an opportunity to use the wifi if needed to help in translation of Spanish.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the hotel and my dear friends for their support and love and I have added some personal photographs to share with you all. Love, Laughs and happy memories! Muchas Gracias Mi Paradise Park Amigos y Tenerife Familia x

Family of my heart
Special thank you to beautiful Guaci and Nita (my blogger assistant)
